SAP has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SmartRecruiters, a San Francisco based AI recruiting platform that serves over 4,000 organizations worldwide, including global brands such as Amazon, Visa, and McDonald’s.
“At the time of Secondary Capital's investment in September 2024, we clearly outlined the opportunity of an acquisition by an industrial player such as SAP as HR modules of ERPs are administrative, not intuitive and more focused on post-hiring human management, said Marc-Antoine Voisard, Founder at Secondary Capital”
SmartRecruiters is built for high-volume, enterprise recruiting, offering automation, AI-driven matching, and intuitive workflows that cut time-to-hire and improve candidate experience. The platform has supported over 140 million job seekers, highlighting its scale, speed, and impact in modern talent acquisition.
With this acquisition, SAP significantly strengthens its all‑in‑one HCM offering. Customers will benefit from enhanced recruiting analytics and AI‑driven insights embedded within a unified platform, enabling more strategic talent acquisition and workforce planning.
“SmartRecruiters’ mission has always been to make hiring easy. Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for enterprises worldwide to benefit from our industry-leading approach to talent acquisition”, said SmartRecruiters CEO Rebecca Carr.
“With this acquisition, we’ll help customers hire top talent faster and more efficiently, while reducing total cost of ownership,” said Muhammad Alam, Executive Board Member, SAP SE.
